What is Early Intervention? Who qualifies? How do I refer a family? How can I support families as they navigate entering this system? Early Intervention is a complicated system, but the goal is simple: the earlier we identify and address developmental concerns, the more quickly children progress. This training provides a broad overview of the structure and goals of the EI System, when/how to refer families, and what to expect following the referral being made. The Early Intervention intake process will be explained, so that participants can support parents through that process. Participants will leave with resources for themselves and to give to families when suggesting a referral to EI.
Key Topics Include:
- Structure/Goals of EI
- Program qualifications: % delay and autoqualifiers
- Roles in the EI system
- Making Referrals: what to expect & how to guide parents through EI referral and intake
