Training: Calendar and Registration
SAL Child Care Connection provides regular training sessions to fulfill the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) and the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (IDCFS) requirements for child care providers. We also offer multi-session cohorts, community trainings and series to support your professional development goals with additional knowledge on child development topics. Many training sessions are free of charge. Child care professionals are able to access Individual Professional Development Grant Funds to offset the cost of professional development.

Online Training and Education Opportunities
Gateways to Opportunity
Free and low-cost professional development opportunities are available through Gateways to Opportunity.
Child Care Education Institute
Additionally, child care professionals may access online training for a minimal cost through the Child Care Education Institute.
Professional development coursework is delivered through user-friendly enrollment, easy access to courses, and a self-paced engaging online learning environment. Individuals can take courses from any computer with Internet access, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Certificates can be printed immediately upon completion of the training module. Individuals may complete up to six hours of coursework each year. The cost is $7.00 per clock hour.
To register for online trainings through SAL Child Care Connection, you must reside in one of the following nine counties: Bureau, Fulton, LaSalle, Marshall, Peoria, Putnam, Stark, Tazewell or Woodford.

Make your check payable to SAL Child Care Connection. All fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
You will then receive an email with a username and password to access the online training portal.
