Bringing Stories to Life: Creating Interactive Storytelling Kits-Peoria, IL

In this hands-on make-and-take workshop, participants will create an interactive storytelling kit designed to increase children's engagement, language development, comprehension, and love of books. Participants will explore ways to use props, puppets, story sequencing pieces, and interactive materials to extend children's learning before, during, and after reading. Through discussion and hands-on creation, providers will leave with a completed storytelling kit and practical ideas for using books to support literacy, imagination, communication, and meaningful learning experiences in their programs.
